I have handheld FRS/GMRS walkies, and they are alright for inter vehicle communication because both minitruck drivers know who’s on what channel. In addition to those, I’m investigating installing a CB radio or a WeBoost Overlanding kit for my cellphone. With one of those, I’ll be able to get in touch with the outside world in case of emergency. Any recommendations? What are YOU using?

I have a weBoost 5G OTR Sleek, it is corded, works great and is worth the $280-300. If you have a larger budget tho get the cordless one!

Radios WOW on my Baja Expedition style adventure I learned so much. I borrowed walkie talkie gmrs radios and they sucked! I am soon to be the new owner of a set of Midland radios as well as GMRS walkies. I’ll have to let you know about that later on! Please get long range radios. I’d even like a CB now.

I’d like to say that even the Boufang radios we used on a Trail ride this past weekend in AZ (Zukipalooza) weren’t enough in a rocky mountain situation. We maneuvered okay but there were moments of oh crap I am out here alone again!
